Pascal Rioult - Susan Pettibone Fraser - Hope GreenfieldSusan Fraser’s love for modern dance was sparked in 1955 as a student with Trudl Dubsky Zipper at the Music Center of the North Shore in Winnetka, Illinois. She was president of Vassar Dance Theater. Years later, it was in a dance class at SUNY Purchase that Susan first met Pascal Rioult and his wife Joyce Herring, as a student in their Graham class. Impressed with both their teaching skills and the choreography that Pascal was then creating, she enthusiastically said yes when asked to join the RIOULT Dance NY Board in 2001.

On June 22, dozens of Susan’s friends and family members from near and far were on hand at the RIOULT gala, where she was recognized for her leadership and commitment. It was not surprising to learn that she currently serves as treasurer, chair of the finance and audit committees and a member of the executive and building committees.

Today, RIOULT is among the leading modern dance companies in New York, with ten full-time dancers and a regular international touring schedule. As reported in the Wall Street Journal, the company is seeking to secure a permanent home so that they can launch a school, a venture in which Susan is once again taking a leadership role.
