BOWomenWainwright House has proclaimed May Women’s Month with heartening and energizing programs and events that focus on fulfilling women’s needs in particular. Why not celebrate the multi-dimensional women in our lives with the non-profit center’s gifts that keep on giving this Mother’s Day?

“Our goal at Wainwright is to help educate and to provide opportunities that give people the tools to find their voice,” said Program Director Linda Parker. “This month we’re offering programming that helps connect women to their power.”

In addition to the center’s full yoga and meditation schedule, this month’s series is a journey for the mind, body, and soul. The array of presentations and workshops run the gamut from self-empowerment to belly dancing. The costumed Middle Eastern dance is not all about shimmies, shivers, and vibrations. It also improves strength and stamina, while getting in touch with one’s sensual side. Another workshop, “Live Your Best Life Story,” promises to provide self-empowerment techniques that facilitate positive, personal change.

As Wainwright consultant and Reiki/reflexology practitioner Elaine Cirillo noted, “This well-rounded programming offers women the chance to tap into the divine feminine, which balances their receptive and nurturing side, along with their wisdom, strength, and confidence.”

Additional presentations will appeal to women’s artistry, intuition, health and wellness, from “Chakras, Color, and Creativity” to a one-day women’s health retreat featuring “Radiant Lotus Qi Gong,” an ancient form of energy exercises.

Finishing off the month, “A Tribe of Women” will focus on the discovery of sacred feminine power through JourneyDance. Participants may not learn the latest dance steps, but they will see themselves in a whole new light.

As Parker points out, spring is a time for renewal and “Wainwright programs support our mission of enlightened living and optimizing the potential of the individual and the community.”
