In making the announcement, Middle School Head David Olson said, “It is interesting to note that there was no Middle School category, and Catherine competed against high school students.”

“Catherine achieved this recognition through hard work and perseverance across six weeks of intense workshop classes,” said Middle School English teacher Marc Maier. “She has a lot to be proud of.”

Catherine is among 24 Middle and Upper School writers at Sacred Heart who won gold, silver, and honorable mention awards.
