Kelly Whelan – Brad Larkin

Mr. and Mrs. William J. Whelan III of Rye are delighted to announce the engagement of their daughter, Kelly Susan Whelan, to Bradley David Larkin, son of Mrs. Anne Wilson Larkin of St. Louis, Missouri, and Mr. and Mrs. Keith Larkin of Glen Allen, Virginia.

The future bride is a graduate of Greenwich Academy and the University of Virginia, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and History. Ms. Whelan received her law degree <cum laude> from Fordham University School of Law in 2016 and is an associate in the law firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP in New York City. Her father is a partner in the law firm of Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP and her mother is a legal expert for the Mission of the Holy See to the United Nations.

The future groom is a graduate of Deep Run High School in Glen Allen, Virginia, and the University of Virginia, from which he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Modern Studies and History. Following college, he worked for two years as an English teacher at Great Oaks Charter High School in Newark, New Jersey, while attending graduate school, and received a Master’s degree in Secondary English Education from New York University. Mr. Larkin currently works as a paralegal at the New York law firm of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP and plans to attend law school in the fall. His father is an officer at the Federal Reserve Bank in Richmond and his mother is a compliance manager for Wells Fargo Bank.

The couple met at college on a program abroad in Germany. A September wedding is planned at the Church of the Resurrection in Rye.

Bryan and Joanna Sullivan of Glenview, Illinois, and Beth and David Conley of Rye, are excited to announce the engagement of their children, Rebecca Sullivan and Brendan Conley.

The future bride graduated from Williams College with a Bachelor of Physics in 2008. She teaches high school science in Brooklyn.

The future groom also graduated from Williams, from which he received a Bachelor of Economics and History in 2008. He currently works for a financial services firm in Manhattan.

The two currently reside in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn. A July wedding is planned in Skaneateles, New York.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Doe Warner III are please to announce the engagement of their son, Cooper, to Alexandria Shomber, daughter of Colonel E. Christian and Sandra Shomber of Chester Springs, Pa. 

 

The future groom is a graduate of Duke University and works for Lazard Investment Bank in Chicago. The future bride is a graduate of St. Andrews University and works for Bloomberg, covering Chicago. 

 

 

A June wedding is planned.

 

Katie and Matthew Lyons of Duxbury, Mass., are thrilled to announce the arrival of a daughter, <<Cornelia Eileen Lyons>> on February 8, 2017. “Neely weighed 8 pounds, 3 ounces, and was 19.75 inches. She joins big brother Leo.

Her maternal grandparents are John and Kathy Wood of Rye, who are overjoyed to welcome their first granddaughter. Roy and Marie Lyons, her paternal grandparents, live in Plymouth, Mass. and Cranston, R.I. Her proud great-grandfather is Ed Herbster of Rye. 

Druckman- Tarakhovski

Victoria Anne Druckman and George Tarakhovski were married September 30, 2016 at Coveleigh Club in Rye. The Rev. Thomas E. Collins performed the ceremony and a reception followed at the club.

The bride is Senior Account Executive at Evolve Media in New York City. She is the daughter of Anne and Darrel Druckman of Rye. 

The groom is employed as Director of Sales at 7Park Data in New York City. He is the son of Dr. Alexander Tarakhovski of New York City and Lidia Tarakhovski of Volklingen, Germany.

 

After honeymooning in Hawaii, the couple returned to their home in Manhattan.
