In a two-week stretch, rain or shine, members of the Ceres Garden Club of Rye assembled the hanging baskets that now grace the light poles downtown, and planted annuals around the sundial next to City Hall and at the nearby Blue Star Memorial marker.

Liz Northshield spoke on behalf of the entire club in thanking the DPW crew for setting up work stations in their dry garage on a wet and wild day, and lending a hand whenever needed, to ensure the baskets were up in time for the Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony.
