Man’s Best Friends
Adopt-A-Dog will host Bets for Pets Casino Night April 17 from 7-11 p.m. at Coveleigh Club. Adopt-A-Dog is a non-profit rescue, shelter and adoption organization dedicated to finding permanent homes for adoptable dogs and cats. This fund-raising event will feature games of chance, wining and dining, magic and dancing. Raffle prizes will be awarded. The special guest host is Bill Evans, Channel 7 meteorologist.
Tickets are $100 and are available at www.adopt-a-dog.org or by calling 203-637-7456. Valet parking will be provided. Tickets must be purchased in advance.

Junior Counselors Needed
Are you interested in a summer job with Rye Recreation? Junior counselors must commit to working at least five out of the six weeks of camp and must work the first week. Training session are mandatory.

An Afternoon of Celtic Harp Music

The Rye Free Reading Room presents a concert by the Westchester Harp Ensemble March 21 at 2 p.m. The group has entertained audiences throughout Westchester on the musical instrument that is a symbol of Ireland and an important component in the preservation of Celtic culture.

Busy moms tend to place their personal needs on the back burner. Christine Dunster, a nurse clinician and educator from Greenwich Hospital, will be at the Rye Y March 16 from 7:30-9 p.m. to discuss stress awareness, nutrition and dietary tips.

Local author Ira Berkowitz will speak about his new book, “Sinners Ball”, at the Rye library March 13 at 1 p.m. This is the third in his series of hard-boiled Jackson Steeg mysteries.

Spring Over to the Y
Soccer Camp

Children will receive instruction and play games followed by one hour of free swim from 9 a.m.-noon. Instructors will cover all the fundamentals of soccer including dribbling, passing, shooting and defense. Participants will be grouped according to age and skill level.

All moms can enjoy the evening with their daughters at the Rye Y March 29 from 6-8 p.m. Make beautiful necklaces, earrings or bracelets followed by a delicious dinner. Great for ages 5 and up.
Family members pay only for the cost of jewelry ($15 and up). For Youth and non-members, the cost is $10 per adult and $5 per child, plus the cost of the jewelry. Call 967-6363.

Y Teen Nights
The Rye Y is open for Teen Night from 7-10 p.m. March 12, 13, 19 and 20. Friday Teen Nights are for high school students, and Saturdays are for middle school students. Enjoy basketball, swimming (swim caps required), working out, video games, air hockey, ping-pong, or socializing with friends in the Teen Lounge. Admission is free for members, $5 for teen access members.

Senior-Centered
Rye Recreation hosts Open Bridge March 29-June 14, 1-3 p.m. It’s open to players of all levels and ages. “Friends are welcome, although there will be plenty already there.” The fee is $10.
