Shred Mobile to the Rescue

The County's new Shred Mobile was working overtime at Household Chemical Clean-Up Days at Playland Nov. 3 and 4. Some 400 residents brought 6.7 tons of paper and watched them shred on the spot. The vehicle is part of a County campaign to prevent identity theft. It will be available at future clean-up days and is available to municipalities and non-profit organizations that want to host shred-a-thons. Call the County's Recycling Office at 813-5420.

Many residents, over 800 of them, according to County officials, did the right thing and brought old computers, cell phones, car tires, fire extinguishers and all kinds of hazardous chemicals for County disposal to Household Chemical Clean-Up.
