For Outstanding Volunteerism, the
Award Goes to Rosaleen O'Neill

The Rye Lions Club will honor Rosaleen Doyle O'Neill at its Fourth Annual Charter Dinner, Friday, Nov. 17, 6:30 p.m. at Coveleigh Club. She will receive the James A. Shea Community Award, which recognizes an individual who lives or works in Rye who has contributed to the life of the community through extraordinary volunteerism.

Mrs. O'Neill was born in San Francisco and lived in Rome for 15 years before settling in Rye in 1975 with her husband Jim and four children. She began volunteering for Meals on Wheels in 1978 as a driver. She was chairman of the organization from 1983 - 1988 and again in the 1990s. While the organization commends her for her dedication, energy and talent, she in turn credits the organization, its members and recipients for enriching her life.

If you are interested in attending the event, call Secretary/Treasurer Dave Heller at 967-0095. Tickets for the event are $75.
