Laurie Yarnell “holds nothing back” in her new blog, “Embedded in the 'Burbs,” which debuted on iVillage.com in September.

“It's an exciting new chapter for me,” says Yarnell, who is the Features Editor at Westchester Magazine. “I blog about whatever is going on in my own life with my family, friends, neighbors and acquaintances. Amazingly enough, some of them are actually still speaking to me!”

Anthony Navarra Honored

Anthony Navarra, an award-winning poet and beloved teacher, was honored by 35 former students of his from P.S. 113 in the Bronx at a party at the Doral Arrowwood Oct. 28. “He was our guidance counselor, parent and Italian teacher,” said Ralph Vellone fondly. Assemblyman George Latimer was on hand to present Mr. Navarra with a state proclamation.

An Award-Winning Snowstorm

Melanie Cane was a runner-up in the recent Westchester County Tourism Amateur Photography Contest for her entry, Playland Boardwalk in a Blizzard. The photo, taken on New Year's Day, will be included in the 2007 Westchester County Travel Guide.
