Modern Classics
“Annie Hall” will be shown September 26 and 28 as part of the “United Artists at 90” series at Jacob Burns Film Center in Pleasantville. This series also includes memorable films such as “The Great Escape”, “Midnight Cowboy”, “The Pink Panther”, “Sunday Bloody Sunday”, “Last Tango in Paris”, “Some Like It Hot”, “The Thomas Crown Affair, “Raging Bull”, and “The Magnificent Seven”.

Unforgettable Paris Portraits
The Bruce Museum’s much-anticipated fall exhibit, “Paris Portraits: Artists, Friends, and Lovers”, opens today. This is the first museum show to feature the great mosaic of Parisian art as a “group portrait” of its leading practitioners. Dr. Kenneth E. Silver, Adjunct Curator, said, “We wanted portraiture of the most sophisticated kind to rub elbows with ‘popular’ representations like caricature and photography.”
The Bruce is located at 1 Museum Drive in Greenwich. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., Sunday 1 - 5 p.m. Admission is $7 for adults, $6 for seniors and students. Admission is free on Tuesdays.

PAC Opening Night
Denyce Graves, the mezzo soprano whom The Washington Post called “almost too good to be true,” ushers in the 2008-09 season at The Performing Arts Center, Purchase College with a concert and gala celebration at 8 p.m. Graves is hailed for a diverse repertoire that includes classical German Lieder, French mélodie and English art song, as well as the popular music of Broadway musicals, crossover, jazz and American spirituals. She will be accompanied by pianist Brian Zeger.

Art Outdoors
The 47th Annual Armonk Outdoor Art Show will be held this weekend, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Ranked as one of the top fine art and design shows in the New York metropolitan area, the juried show will feature oils, photography, mixed media, clay, jewelry, glass, baskets, and much more by nearly 200 artists.

Fine Art of Dining
The Mamaroneck Artists’ Guild, now in its new gallery space in Larchmont, presents “The Dining Room”, featuring handmade ceramics and sculpture. The exhibit is part of the countywide “All Fired Up” clay celebration and will highlight the functional pottery and sculptural ceramic work of the Guild’s clay artists.
A reception will be held October 4 from noon – 5 p.m. There will also be a wine tasting October 11, 2 - 4 p.m., and a Walk & Talk to meet the artists October 19, 5 - 7 p.m.

Tap Time
Savion Glover, the tap dance virtuoso of his generation, returns to The Performing Arts Center, Purchase College in a new show, “Bare Soundz”, at 8 p.m.
The Tony Award-winning performer/choreographer of “Bring in ‘Da Noise, Bring in ‘Da Funk” is joined by hoofers Marshall Davis Jr. and Maurice Chestnut for a celebration of a cappella rhythm. Glover combines bebop and hip-hop with impossible footwork.

Family Time on the Farm
Celebrate autumn by taking a guided walk to enjoy the colors of the season, picking a pumpkin, bringing the kids for a Halloween scavenger hunt or shopping for in-season produce, all in October at Muscoot Farm.
Join the center’s naturalist for a fall foliage hike October 5, 1 - 3 p.m. Take a hayride to the farm’s pumpkin patch October 12 and 13, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. The Boo Walk is set for October 26, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Lecture and Lunch
The Greenwich Antiques Society invites art lovers to its first lecture of the season at 10:30 a.m. at the Bruce Museum. The speaker is Jean Burks, Senior Curator at the Shelburne Museum in Vermont. Her talk will trace Electra Havemeyer Webb’s journey from collector to connoisseur, and will illustrate the wide variety of items that make up the Shelburne collection.
The lecture will be followed by a luncheon at the Indian Harbor Yacht Club. The charge for both is $65. For reservations, call 203-869-9531.
