Does your child show signs of being highly sensitive or “indigo”? Julie Rosensheim, a clinical social worker, will present a strategy-based approach to helping both child and family during at a presentation entitled The Highly Sensitive Child, Sunday, September 28, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. There is a $35 fee for members, $45 for non-members.
In honor of St. Francis, Wainwright House will host a Blessing and Celebration of Animals Sunday, October 5, at 1 p.m. Everyone is invited to bring all well-behaved, restrained or contained pets. Bring a photo or memento if you'd like to honor a deceased pet. The Rev. Katherine H. Clarke, past president of the Wainwright Board of Trustees, will perform the blessing at this complimentary event. R.S.V.P at 967-6080.
The Woman's Club of Rye Children's Philanthropy is holding its 13th annual Outdoor Family Portraits this month and next. Westchester photographer Carroll Hudders will take shots for holidays cards and anniversaries in beautiful Rye Town Park.
The proceeds go to support community outreach for children and students. Remaining available dates include: Wednesday, October 1, Thursday, October 9, and Monday, October 13. Christ Church Nursery School's Play Today Fun Fair takes place Saturday, October 4, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Christ's Church parking lot. Geared for pre-school children and their families, this fun-filled day will include activities like a jumping castle, a mini-carousel, games and arts and crafts. All proceeds from the fair will go to the nursery school's enrichment programs and scholarship fund.
