The opening reception for the Rye Historical Society's new exhibit, All Fired Up! Saltfired Wares: 1700's to 2008—Bruce Dehnert & the Rye Historical Society, Sunday, October 5, 3 to 5 p.m. at the Square House. The exhibition highlights the Square House Museum's collection of standard saltfired pieces common in the 18th and 19th centuries and places them in juxtaposition to the large vessels being made by Bruce Dehnert, a contemporary potter who uses the same saltfiring process. The exhibit continues through January 3. Call 967-7588 for information.
