New Downtown Personal Training Center

Boyhood friends Tommy Martinetti and Dennis Briscoe have recently opened Rye Health & Fitness, a boutique-style personal training center open seven days a week at 14 Elm Place, across the parking lot from Crisfield’s.

Sports stars while at New Rochelle High School, Briscoe and Martinetti pursued separate dreams: while Tommy played minor-league baseball, Dennis worked in finance for years, most recently with Wachovia. “But we both trained clients on our own time,” said Briscoe.

Then, when Mike Wohltman closed Rye Personal Training, the friends, both certified trainers and sports nutritionists, decided to open their new place “on a whim.” Martinetti explained, “Rye needed a place where there was no competing for machines, a by-appointment-only center for the man or woman who wants to feel better and have fun doing it, whether you need to lose weight or not.”
