Rye's First Subway Series

Louden Woods played Indian Village in the first annual Memorial Day softball game the morning of May 28 at Rye Recreation field. In a closely contested game, the Indians beat the Lumberjacks 10-6. Over 35 adults played in the battle of the neighborhoods and were cheered on by over 100 of their neighbors, friends and family. Hunter Baldwin pitched four shut out innings and hit two home runs, driving in five runs to lead the attack.

There were many outstanding defensive plays on both sides to keep the game very competitive. After the game, the players and their families and friends had a picnic to relax and nurse their sore arms and legs. It was a beautiful day and a great way to celebrate the holiday weekend.
