Need to brush up your two-step or just need an excuse to dance? Wainwright House offers a number of social dance classes for enthusiasts of all levels with or without partners. On Friday, June 22, you can do the Argentine Tango from 8 to 10 p.m. The level is intermediate. The fee is $25.

Jill Doornick will lead you through today’s most popular dances in Smooth Ballroom on Tuesday nights in June, 8 to 9 p.m. Thursday nights are set for Latin Ballroom, 8: 15 to 9:15 p.m. The cost for either four-week series is $60 per person. To sign up, call 967-6080.

The League of Women Voters of Rye, Rye Brook, and Port Chester will hold its annual luncheon meeting June 13 at noon at American Yacht Club. A speaker from Governor Spitzer's office will update guests on the Governor's plans for campaign finance reform and highlights of this year's budget. The cost is $28 per person. Beat the heat with a cold and tasty treat at the Rye Newcomers Kids' Ice Cream Social Tuesday, June 12, 3:30 to 5 p.m.

Rye American Legion Post #128 will hold its annual picnic Saturday, June 9, at noon at Rye Recreation. Prior to an afternoon of food, refreshments and comradeship, the 2007-08 slate of officers, led by new Commander John LaGattuta, will be inducted.

Take “A Walk in the Garden” at The Osborn and enjoy a luncheon and intergenerational fashion show Thursday, June 19. The reception begins at 11:15 a.m. followed by lunch at noon.
