Seaside Labyrinth to Open at Wainwright

The summer solstice marks the grand opening of the new all green, seaside, seven-circuit labyrinth at Wainwright House. This newly constructed labyrinth, at Fonrose House, replaces the old, overgrown woodland labyrinth that was dismantled last year.

The opening of the new labyrinth is part of the ongoing renaissance that is taking place at Wainwright, the nation's oldest holistic learning center. It is hoped that this classic, east/west oriented labyrinth will become a place of refuge for all visitors. With a bench in the middle for meditation, walking the labyrinth solo or with others is an opportunity to explore one's innermost thoughts and emotions. The goal of reaching the center is only part of the journey. Each encounter with the labyrinth allows the walker to step more fully into life.

The Wainwright labyrinth will be one of the few all green labyrinths in the country. The public is invited to attend an opening reception in Fonrose House Thursday, June 21, at 7 p.m.
