Westchester County Open Days
Unlocking the gates to America’s best private gardens since 1995, The Garden Conservancy’s Open Days Program’s 2008 season features more than 300 gardens from coast to coast, including 22 in Westchester County from April to November. Admission fees at each garden support the expansion of the Open Days Program around the country and helps build awareness of the Garden Conservancy’s work of preserving exceptional American gardens such as Rocky Hills - The Garden of William & Henriette Suhr in Mount Kisco, as well as a dozen other preservation projects.
Westchester County Open Days take place: May 10 (Bedford and Bedford Hills), May 18 (Armonk), May 24 (Mount Kisco), June 8 (Cortlandt Manor and North Salem), June 29 (Bedford Hills, Katonah, and Tarrytown), July 20 (Bedford, Bedford Hills, Bronxville, Cortlandt Manor, New Rochelle, Scarsdale, and Valhalla), September 7 (Lewisboro and Waccabuc), and November 2 (Mount Kisco).
The program includes private gardens open to the public for a $5 admission fee. No reservations are required, and the dates are rain or shine. Garden descriptions and directions are available at www.opendaysprogram.org. Call 888-842-2442 to order a copy of the 2008 Open Days Directory.
