20th Annual Derby Day

The weather broke right on cue for the Rye YMCA’s 20th Annual Rye Derby Sunday, May 4. Richard Kipligat finished first  with a time of 23:38.76. Dagne Alemu and Wegayehu Terera came in second and third, respectively. Meskerem Legesse was the first female to complete the race, and her time of 28:03.58 was good for seventh overall.
Rye’s Conor O’Driscoll finished first out of all 200 Rye participants. Catherine McLeod had the best time of any Rye woman, placing 37th overall at 34:36.06. Jeff Bouton and Steven Garnett were the second and third Rye residents to cross the finish line. For more results, go to www.RyeYMCA.org.
Healthy Kids Day kicked off the festivities with a 1-mile Fun Run/Walk.
