3/27: At approximately 3:50 p.m., CVS Pharmacy reported a larceny. Upon officers’ arrival, CVS employee stated two men stole Enfamil baby formula and fled scene northbound on Boston Post Road in bluish-gray tractor sans trailer. Employee was able to take down license plate number, and officers immediately canvassed local area. When canvassing yielded no results, police headed to the Kohl’s parking lot in Port Chester, where tractor-trailers have been known to be parked for long periods of time. There, they noticed a tractor with license plate that matched description. The two suspects were outside of vehicle, trying to attach trailer to tractor. Suspects were 38- and 41-year-old brothers from White Plains. While older brother claimed he did nothing wrong, younger one admitted to taking Enfamil without paying. Officers read him Miranda rights, and asked if there was anything illegal in the tractor or trailer. The 38-year-old said there was methadone and a crack pipe in his black fanny pack.
After reviewing surveillance footage, officers noticed the 41-year-old was clearly acting as a lookout when his brother stole Enfamil. Both were charged with petit larceny, criminal possession of a controlled substance and operating a motor vehicle with improper plates.

Dead Goat Washes Up At Read Sanctuary
A decapitated goat was found Monday, April 9, on the shore of the Edith Read Sanctuary by a group of visiting SUNY Purchase students. Upon their grim discovery, the students notified park personnel, who then had detectives look into the matter.
According to Westchester County Police Public Information Officer Kieran O'Leary, it is believed the goat washed up from Long Island Sound after being dumped there in a black bag by unknown persons. When found, the body of the animal was partially in the bag and its head was located nearby. County Police do not believe the incident was ritualistic in nature.
There is no way to identify where the goat was actually dumped, said O'Leary, and the case is essentially closed.
County Parks spokesman Peter Tartaglia said the County does not believe there is any connection between this incident and the one two years ago at Read Sanctuary, where seven dead deer were discovered in an open grave. Tartaglia stated that case, also essentially closed, was likely one of illegal hunting.
