A Collection of Good Scouts

More than 100 Rye Girl Scouts and their parents recently enjoyed an afternoon of ice skating at Playland Ice Casino, the setting for their 2009 community event. To participate, the girls were asked to bring a donation of infant formula and/or any size diapers and pull-ups. In all, the Rye scouts collected 2,300 diapers and 100 bottles of formula, contributions to be distributed to food pantries and shelters by Helping Hands for the Homeless and Hungry. This effort was coordinated by Troop 1600.
