Countywide Furniture Drive

Furniture Sharehouse and The Junior League of Westchester on the Sound (JLWOS) are holding a Countywide Furniture Drive Saturday, April 25, from 9 a.m.– 2 p.m. Their goal is to collect enough furniture to keep up with the increasing number of families who are seeking assistance in these tough economic times.

Residents can bring their gently used furniture to one of three convenient drop-off locations: Playland Amusement Park; Westchester County Airport; and North Castle Town Hall, Armonk. For details of drop-off sites, and a complete list of the items that can and cannot be accepted, go to www.furnituresharehouse.org and review the Donation Guidelines. Tax receipts will be available for acceptable donations.
“If you don’t have furniture to donate, you can also make a difference by volunteering at one of the drop-off locations,” said Meg Tym, JLWOS President.

The Countywide Furniture Drive is part of Furniture Sharehouse’s Second Anniversary celebration. Since opening in April 2007, just after the disastrous flooding, Furniture Sharehouse has provided donated furniture to over 475 needy Westchester families.
