LWV Discussion On New Way of Electing President

The Rye, Rye Brook & Port Chester Chapter of the League of Women Voters is participating in a study on the advisability of a proposed plan for a National Public Vote (NPV) Compact. The Compact would provide for the election of the President and Vice President of the U.S. by popular vote. The local LWV invites all to an information session at the Rye library April 14, 10 a.m. A discussion and consensus session will be held April 21 at the same time and place. The consensus portion of the meeting will be open only to 2009 members of the local League. If you are not a member and wish to join, contact treasurer Steve Meyers at steve@shmeyers.com or 967-0447.
