Want to play a mean guitar? Rye Rec is offering a spring series of lessons (April 15-June 3) for grades 5-12. Session I for beginners with some experience runs from 5-6 p.m.; Session II for real beginners runs from 6-7 p.m. Call 967-2535.

Award-winning storyteller Motoko will enchant children of all ages with “Sumo Mice and Power Rice: Tales & Games from Japan” at the Rye library Community Meeting Room Saturday, April 25, 2-3:30 p.m. Her folktales from her native country are leavened with music, games, mime, and humor. At the end of the program, every child will receive Motoko’s original paper sumo game. Registration is required for this event. Call 231-3162.
