Rye Y Gymnasts Shine at States

The Rye YMCA Gymnastics team brought home several awards from the Connecticut State Championships, including a first- and third-place trophy. Miffy Riley was crowned champion of the Level 4 division with a 9.0 on vault, 9.3 on bars, 8.5 on beam and 8.8 on floor. Ellie Garland placed third all around in Level 4 with a 9.0 on vault, 9.2 on bars, 8.65 on beam and 8.25 on floor.

The team competed against eight other teams in Glastonbury on March 28. “The girls had a great experience and are now working hard to prepare for the Regional and National Championships,” said Kathy O’Brien Rye YMCA Gymnastics Coordinator.
