The Guest Room: Now and Wow


When it came time to redecorate her third-floor guest room, Julie Killian didn't want to spend too much money, but girls do want to have fun. She and friend Laura Tutun, who also helps her with decorating, found furniture and furnishings at Ikea and West Elm, the modern furniture catalog company. The result is what she affectionately calls “The Love Shack.” Guests love staying there because of the comfortable furnishings and the sloped ceilings. The only expensive furnishing in there is the pillow shams.
