Anything Goes at the Y

If you belong to the Rye YMCA, and are so inclined, you could spend every weekday from 5:45 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. in a group exercise class. On Saturdays, classes run from 7:15 to 11:30 a.m. and on Sundays, the day of rest, classes are offered from 8:30 to 11:45 a.m.

There is a class for every age, fitness level, work schedule and mindset. For example, at the Wainwright House Yoga Center there's a ballet class for children aged 4-6, a Limbercize class for seniors, six different types of Yoga classes,
as well as Pilates with and
without weights and T'ai Chi.

At the YMCA proper, there are 25 spinning classes (some for beginners), seven Pilates classes, three step classes, as well as “power madness” classes, flexibility strength training classes, three yoga classes, and even a “Boot Camp” for those masochists in the crowd.
