The Port Chester Carver Center will hold its Annual Spring Benefit at PepsiCo World Headquarters Saturday, April 14, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. This year’s theme is: “The Heart & Soul of the Community.” The benefit will feature a raffle for a trip to London, tickets to the US Open, a beauty tea and shopping day at Saks Fifth Avenue in Greenwich and a watercolor house portrait.

This year’s benefit is co-chaired by Patty Dudzik and Nan O’Neill with a wonderful hard-working committee. Ticket prices start at $85 per person. The Little Garden Club of Rye will present a small daffodil show at the Osborn Retirement Community Tuesday, April 10.

The show is approved by The American Daffodil Society, Inc., and ADS ribbons will be awarded. The show is open to anyone who grows daffodils. There are thousands of varieties of daffodils divided into 13 classes. The Royal Horticultural Society System of Classification will be used and an exhibitor may make as many entries as desired in any class. Containers and wedging material for cut-flower exhibits will be furnished by the show committee; no daffodil foliage is permitted. Entries will be received on Tuesday, April 10, from 8 to 10:15 a.m. at The Osborn.

Youth Division entries will be accepted on Monday, April 9, from 3 to 5 p.m. Judging on Tuesday is from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the show and reception is from 2 to 3:30 p.m., and all entries should be removed between 3:30 and 5 p.m. Show schedules, detailing horticultural rules and information, and entry cards for the exhibits will be available at the show, or may be obtained in advance from the committee chairmen, Marilyn Donahue (921-0195), Robin Russell (967-8044), or Karen O’Brien (921-0507).
