Learn how to prepare a butterfly garden Saturday, March 24, 1 p.m. at Read Sanctuary. You’ll discuss plant and butterfly relationships, with a focus on native species to let you know what to plant in order to attract these wonderful pollinators. You'll even take home a native plant to get you started.

Come see if you can be the first to spy a woodcock during a walk at Read, March 31, 5 p.m. Also known as a timberdoodle, the woodcock nests in the edges of the sanctuary and begins its courtship display at sundown.

You’ll learn that The Easter Bunny isn’t the only one to lay eggs during “Egg-Layers: Oviparous Creatures of Read Sanctuary” Saturday, April 7, 2 p.m. The program, designed for children, focuses on the different animals that lay eggs. A few live examples will be on display and participants will make edible nests complete with eggs to take home.

Bring work gloves and help clear the Boston Post Road stone wall of vegetation at a volunteer work project Saturday, March 24, 1 p.m. at the Marshlands. Your help is also needed at a project that will remove non-native vines from a section of a second growth forest during the Habitat Management Volunteer Project Saturday, March 31, 1 p.m.

Enjoy a final look at the closing reception for  “A Different Point of View,” the annual Marshlands art exhibit. You can claim your purchases and meet the artists Sunday, April 1, 4 p.m. Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of Marshlands.

Watch the sunrise from a rock facing east over the marshes for a quiet, peaceful start to the day Sunday, April 8, 6 a.m. at the Marshlands.
