Mix and Mingle

The Rye Historical Society invites women to “Fashion Icons of the 1920s,” a special luncheon, at American Yacht Club Wednesday, April 11, at noon. Boutique shopping will be available at 11 a.m. and following the lunch. The speaker is Cathleen Craughwell-Varda, historical costume expert and author of “Looking for Jackie: American Fashion Icons.” She’ll present a slide show exploring the connection between Hollywood and fashion in the 1920s, with a focus on Gloria Swanson. Strolling models will appear in period garb.

The lunch is presented in conjunction with an exhibit at the Square House Museum entitled “Rye and the Roaring 20s: A Time for Change.” Tickets are $50. For more information, call the Rye Historical Society offices at 967-7588.

Enjoy special effects, music, games, a snack lounge and prizes at DJ Party Nights Fridays, 8:30 to 11 p.m. at Playland through April 29. The cost is $12 per person, which includes skate rental.

Sharpen your edges for Family Skate Nights Saturdays, 7:30 to 10 p.m. through April 28. The cost is $30 for two to four skaters, which includes skate rentals and a large pizza.

The Rye Neck PTSA hosts its annual spring fair rain or shine Saturday, March 24, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Rye Neck HS/MS Campus. Enjoy exciting new inflatables, games, international crafts, Panther’s Den Food Court, prizes, a cake walk, and musical entertainment from the Circuit Riders, as well as selections from student soloists, MS and HS Jazz and Rock groups.
