Rye Toasts …

… the 2008 State Champion football and girls’ soccer teams, and the countless others who dug out of their homes and braved the wintry weather December 20 for Rye’s first “Parade of Champions”. The best in New York couldn’t slow either team en route to their respective State titles, so a little – or a whole lot of – snow wasn’t going to freeze out this celebration.

… Osborn Elementary School for coordinating the annual Holiday Angels program. On December 15, Osborn once again brightened the holidays of students of Public School 204 in the Bronx. Each student at PS 204 received a pair of mittens and socks, a hat, a toy and a book from their Osborn Holiday Angel. Coats were given to the students who needed them. Each year, Lou Tripodi, a former Osborn dad, lends the school his Tripodi Appliances truck to bring the gifts down to the Bronx.

The fifth-grade classes of Jacquelyne Benfari and Rich Savage took a field trip to meet fifth graders at PS 204. Brendan Potter, an Osborn dad, dressed up as Santa and brought smiles all around.
In the spring, fifth graders from Osborn and PS 204 will meet up at Rye Recreation for a picnic and games. We can’t wait.
