Few businesses in Rye have endured the test of time as long as Rye Art Gallery & Framing. Run by the Francella family, the shop at 1010 Boston Post Road has evolved along with downtown Rye for 37 years.

Retail may be a little slow in January, but not at Miriam’s Attic, the resale shop at The Osborn, which had its grand opening December 9. Osborn residents not only help with the pricing, they also run the shop. All proceeds go to The Osborn’s Charity Care Program.

Rye Grill & Bar will be back in business Monday, January 26, after a nearly 18-month renovation. The cozy 17-year-old spot near the Rye train station, which has been a top dining destination from its start, is a lot larger now but will remain a comfort food destination.

Rye’s three public elementary schools, Milton, Osborn and Midland, are kicking off the New Year with a healthy start courtesy of the Rye YMCA’s Activate America school wellness grants program.
