Off to a Splashy Start

The Rye YMCA Wave Ryeders began the season with a win against Yonkers Rec November 21. The 245-171 score reflects several Wave Ryeder first-place finishes, as well as double wins from Christopher Scalia, Anina Lund and Celia Palmer. “I am very happy with the team’s strong performance,” said Head Coach Kate Tiedeman. The Rye YMCA team has been riding a victorious wave for several years. Last year, the Wave Ryeders were undefeated in their regular season, placed first in the 2008 Westchester/Fairfield League Swim Championships and crowned two State Champions at the 2008 YMCA New York State Swim Championships.
